Dear Customer,
we just got information from Level 3 about the connection issues one week ago. Root cause of the problems was a malfunctional FPC card in one of the backbone routers in Frankfurt (bbr1.frf1). This card caused packet-loss. To resolve these issues Level 3 first tried to isolate miscellaneous links and rerouted traffic within the backbone without success. Finally Level 3 isolated the whole router to do further debugging actions what remedied the loss. Later the router was re-integrated and situation was stable again. It is still unclear why the router did not recognize the defective card.
